I began going to dr. Whigham when I was 2 years old, I absolutely adored her as a child. I was never afraid to go back alone, because she made me feel comfortable. I respect that they do not allow parents in the back because it allows for them to bond with the child with out them clinging to a parent. I used dr. Whigham until I was 17 years old. My first experience at an adult dentist office was terrifying as I was so used to my comfort at dr. Whigham's office. I now have two children, a two year old and a 2 MO old and I fully intend on using her for my children. I absolutely cannot fathom some of the comments about her mistreating children to be true.
Very friendly and informative staff.
Very nice staff and very nice place. The staff calmed down my child and was gentle with her.
I have no clue how they are still open except for the fact that they are one of the few dentists in the area to see kids and accept medicaid. Persnicketty dentists who require that the youngest children(mine is 3) come in first thing in the morning because "they are less cranky then" and will not allow parents to go back with their kids after they hit the ripe old age of 3 without REALLY fussing and arguing with you. Because, obviously kids wont freak out without a parent present. Seriously? I was expected to allow them to lead my 3 year old back there and me to stay in the waiting room while God knows what happened in the back. Nope. Final straw was when they called to reschedule our appointment after I confirmed it twice over a week through their text messaging system but all of a sudden they decided the office would be closed the day before the appointment and called me after I had made arrangements with work and school. I will drive an extra hour out of the way before I take my children here again.
@Franco Lopez, when you say they treat the children badly, can you elaborate? What was your experience there with your children. Another young lady said they strapped her down when she was 4 years old, I didn't know that was a practice of theirs. My son goes there and we haven't had any issues thus far but I certainly do not like the fact that we can not go back there with our children, that's a big concern of mine.
