Overall, not a bad doctor, but not good either.
For the few months I saw him during my pregnancy, Dr. Karoly was always very professional and friendly towards me. I felt like he knew what he was doing and that my unborn son would have a good doctor. However, unlike my later doctor, he never made any attempt to connect on a personal level, which made me feel like just another patient. One other thing that bothered me was a problem we had at one appointment. I had tested positive for being a carrier for cystic fibrosis. He could tell I was panicked and explained it to me, and suggested I get my son's father tested too. He basically said I needn't worry about it and that he'd be surprised if anything came of it. Of course, I relaxed and then found a new doctor after moving. Come to find out, I actually had several complications with my pregnancy that he had missed. It also took forever to get my medical record faxed. Fast forward to September 1st, 2014, my son was born with a gastric blockage. Off to the Nicu, where they performed surgery to remove it, and perform tests on what could be the cause.
I visited my son the next day, where his doctors informed me that my son has cystic fibrosis.
I understand that I am a young mother, but absolutely did not appreciate being brushed off to the side, as to finish up the appointment.
